Joseph assists a range of clients with the business and legal sides of cannabis, including applicants seeking medical marijuana and hemp licenses. Joseph serves on the Cannabis Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), and was selected to serve on its Executive Board for the 2020-2021 term. He previously served as general counsel to the New Jersey Chapter of the Hemp Industries Association, a non-profit hemp industry trade group. Joseph frequently presents continuing legal education (CLE) courses and seminars for the NJSBA, most recently co-presenting "Hemp and CBD - Legal Implications and Regulations", and “The Cannabis Law Referendum, You and Your Clients – What You Need to Know Now”.

In addition to his Of Counsel role at MG Miller, Joseph is a Partner at Middlebrooks Shapiro, P.C. where he practices federal and state litigation, reorganization, and liquidation.
