Accelerated Examination

Accelerated examination are a series of procedures established by the USPTO that quicken the time in which your patent application is examined upon request.

If you would like to accelerate the timeline of obtaining your patent, MG Miller offers services such as Track One prioritized examination, Patent Prosecution highway, and the Design patent “Rocket Docket” as options for faster examination of a patent.

Track one prioritized examination is the label of accelerated examination specifically for utility and plant patent applications. Track one adds a special status to a patent application that has fewer requirements than standard accelerated examination, notably lacking the requirement to perform a pre-examination search.

The Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) is a program established between the USPTO and certain foreign patent offices that allows utility patent applications that have previously received favorable rulings to be expedited.

The Design Patent “Rocket Docket” is the route of accelerated examination specifically for design patents.

If you are unsure if you qualify for accelerated examination or would like more information regarding which route is most beneficial for your patent application, our attorneys will advise you on the benefits of each and highlight which form of accelerated examination is available for your invention and application.
